Remote Learning

We have a remote learning offer to use in the unlikely event of a school closure or for an individual child being unable to attend school, eg due to an infectious illness or needing recovery from an operation or injury.

A member of staff will discuss the remote learning offer with the parent/carers and any relevant professionals. If the child has an EHCP (Education Health Care Plan) or a social worker we will make them aware that the child is not at school and provide information about our remote learning offer.

The schools remote learning offer is reviewed at least annually as part of our homework offer.

Keeping in touch calls will include a conversation regarding the effectiveness of remote learning and any support or adaptions needed.

Our universal remote learning offer will typically include:

  • Practice tasks including handwriting, spelling, reading and number formation (additional books and sheets can be emailed or collected from school)
  • Previous maths and topic tasks (collected from school)
  • Doodle Maths (online provision)
  • Oxford Owls books and quizzes (online provision)

Adaptions are made based on the needs of individual children.

All children receive a homework stationery pack in the Autumn term, to aid with their home learning.
